Our commitment
The India Chronicle exists to publish accurate, fair and useful news. This policy sets the standards every article must meet.
Accuracy first
- Facts are verified against primary sources before publication.
- Names, dates, places, figures and quotations are checked individually.
- When information is incomplete, we say what is known, what is unconfirmed, and when it was last checked.
Fairness
- We present the relevant facts without distortion or selective omission.
- People and organisations criticised in our reporting are given a fair opportunity to respond where practical.
- Headlines accurately reflect the article; we do not use misleading clickbait.
Originality
- Articles are written originally from verified source material. We do not copy or closely paraphrase other publications' reporting.
- Sources are attributed with links wherever possible.
Separation of fact, opinion and advertising
- Factual reporting, opinion and advertising are kept strictly separate.
- Opinion pieces carry a visible OPINION label.
- Advertisements are clearly labelled and never presented as editorial content.
No fabrication
We never invent news events, quotations, statistics, sources, eyewitness accounts or official statements. We never describe old news as breaking.
Accountability
Significant errors are corrected promptly and transparently under our Corrections Policy. Readers can raise concerns via the Contact Us page.
